Here ya go, I finally got one of those Mammoth eggs weighed.
Drum roll please...
It weighed in at....
....
....
....
2.96 ounces
Agnes weighed it not me.
And I doubt that the hen that laid it would even dress out at 3 pounds.
It was only a double yolker.
So I am still waiting for a 3 ounce egg and a triple yolker.

Ah ha ha ha! I laughed so loud when this post came up. Thank you so much - as you have clearly become aware, I am in LOVE with details and measurements!!
I can't believe a 2.9 ouncer - that's incredible!!! My largest egg so far has been 2.7 - and a double yolker. Do you know which of your hens laid this beast? And will you be placing it under a broody hen so we can see if twins will actually result from this?
Please tell Agnes I really appreciate her taking my nerdy needs to heart and providing the weight.... :-)
Nerds.
Danni: so glad you got a laugh. It served it purpose then. I'm not 100% sure which one it is but I got to find out soon. Wifey wants to thin the herd again, and I want to make sure we keep this one for breeding in the spring.
Marcee: HA!!! I can't wait until you get your own hens. You will probably hand feed them and be there to catch the eggs before they hit the nest, and cackle right along with them as they do.
AHHAAAHA!...Totally. They will sleep on my pillow, too.
