Oh now...that photo of the egg on the glowing blue dinosaur thingy is way cool. I can't believe your girls actually broke the 3 ounce ceiling!! Those two have GOT to be triple yolkers, wouldn't you think?
Dorothy is waaaay impressed. :-)
Agnes and Maude will be, too.

Wow! That is a monster. What kind of chicken is laying your big eggs and how old is she?

I had rotator cuff surgery last year. It worked, I'm pretty much back to normal, but 6 weeks of little movement after the surgery was almost too much!

Good luck!

You really need to take a picture of the girls who lay these eggs. No one will believe it!!! :)

Dorothy: That is a lasered crystal on a lighted turntable. I know, that poor little hen, I can't wait to see how far she goes with these monster eggs, Agnes brought me over one of her scales so I can keep track of her accomplishments.

Don: those monsters all came from 1 seven month old Grey Leghorn. So far she has laid all double yolkers.

Agnes: Due to lack of batteries the picture will have to wait, but soon. I just wish I could figure out which one it is so I could give her special treatment or a medal or something.

Very impressive!

For the first few months of laying, our girls gave us a double yolker every day or two. And one girl gave us triple yolkers three times!
It was so eggciting collecting eggs every day. We were especially when cooking them. We'd all gather around the fry pan as we broke those monster-sized eggs, and ooh and ahhh, as those double and triple yolks slid out!

Alas, that only lasted about 3-4 months. Habn't had a double or triple yolks since then.

My chickens will be a year old next week!!!! Woot! Woot!

Where did the last year go?

Should I make my girls a birthday cake, or what?

:)

Lisa: Heck Ya, and ice cream too!
OK maybe the ice cream is a bit much, but it's only fair to make them a cake. No candles or icing please!
I have been making my chickens popcorn for the last few weeks. My step-mother gave me a bunch of old stuff that someone gave her and I have been popping it for the hens.(no butter or salt) They have been gobbling it up like they were at a double feature with free drinks.
I'm almost afraid to think of whats going to happen when its gone!! We'll probably have a revolt on our hands ;)

Hey! You've given me a terrific idea!

I'm going to surprise my chickens with a popcorn cake for their birthday next week!

They are going to be so thrilled!

Thank you!!!
